  • Poor customer service

    If you submit a request for customer service 49 hours after your order, you won’t be helped. I received only half my order. I didn’t realize customer service operated on weekends, and tried contacting them the Monday after. Was told that because I contacted after 48 hours, they couldn’t do anything

    I was very excited to learn that Apple and Postmates were offering an amazing promotional deal until the end of the year. I downloaded the app and placed my first order. Postmates took money out of my Apple Wallet and bank account and never placed the order at the restaurant. I contacted the restaurant and they apologized profusely and sadly informed me that they couldn’t do anything about it and even worse could no longer provide a customer service number because some genius decided to end the call service. Even more frustrating was the fact that I could not contact Postmates because a means of contact is only generated when an order is established. This company wants zero accountability for their mistakes and any real and legit problems get resolved by directing people to absolute rubbish articles. Taking people’s hard earned money is NOT okay! What would happen if an average person took a 79 cent candy bar? That would be the end of their reputable lives if not worse! Now I know to listen to my grandmother “if it sounds too good to be true, it isn’t real” (I gave Postmates a chance to remedy this and after reaching their escalation team and still not being helped I’ve decided to send out this review as warning)
  • Uber eats is the way to go

    Tried it because I found a $100 deliver coupon (which by the way you still have to pay for a “small cart” fee) but had someone bail out in the morning the first time a tried it, then had a difficult time with support the second time in the evening. Any issue I’ve had with Uber Eats has been resolved with ease.

    I’ve been a Postmates Unlimited customer for a while, and I’ve seen a degradation in the service. I’ve had so many orders dropped after more than a half an hour, often after the “Order Accepted” is checked off. Today, I had a driver pick up the order, wait 25 minutes, then cancel on me. The app offered me the option to re-order, but why doesn’t Postmates dispatch another driver? I re-ordered, thinking that since the order was ready, another driver could pick it up immediately. Instead, I had to wait another hour for my food. The app updates have made it more difficult to reach customer service. Often, the customer is directed to an FAQ, with no links for contact, just a dead-end that leaves the customer without recourse. I’ve had the Estimated Total off by 20% from the final charge, and when I wrote about it, I received an automated response, that did not address any of my questions. I feel that Postmates is disingenuous by charging a monthly fee for Unlimited, and hiding that there is a fee of 20% per order. If they were up-front about that, fewer customers would likely be upset. There is a severe lack of transparency in nearly every aspect of the service, and I feel that a lot of issues could be resolved easily, if it weren’t so difficult to get accurate information. I’ve seen many local restaurants cease offering their own in-house delivery, as the Postmates/Caviar/Grubhub type services are becoming. More popular, so if Postmates wants to retain customers, they need to work on these issues.

    I placed an order of 24 wings to split with my friend. After waiting the hour it showed up (yay!) only to find there were only 10 wings inside. This is a little more difficult to split. Since there’s no phone option for contacting support I sent in a ticket via email. Three hours later I get a super generic response that in no way rectified my problem. I got brushed off and told that the order was changed and the price was changed so no problem they could see. So instead of a quick blurb on what went wrong, I sent in an essay. I called the restaurant I ordered from to see why the order was changed and they told me this was a RECURRING problem with Postmates and the menu was out of date. They didn’t offer the 24 wing special so the order came in as a 10 count. Mind you, the price they quoted me for the 10 count was reasonable. The problem was that I wasn’t notified of the change at any point in time. I sent in my essay with all the issues I had taken with Postmates clearly laid out. The response I received was, again, very generic. They glazed over my issues and focused on what they said the first email: the order was changed and the price was changed with it. No apparent fault was taken. No real apology for not notifying me. Nothing. If I had been notified, my friend and I could have both eaten! But that wasn’t their problem. They just “appreciate your business and look forward to delivering your next order”. I’m just appalled at their customer service and my trial of Postmates was terrible. This app is not worth the hassle.

    I just finished my first Postmates meal and won’t be using it ever again. I signed up because of a promotional offer that seemed appealing, however I’ve tried Uber Eats, Seamless, Grub Hub, and Yelp Eat 24 and this is the worst experience (and even with a promotion the most added fees) I’ve had out of any of them. The UI is very nice, although it’s a laughable imitation of Uber Eats. I was given an “estimate” of my order total, and I wasn’t even able to see the price until the order had been made. What type of transaction is this?? Midway through the order the postmate (NOT the restaurant) has to call me to tell me the item I’ve ordered is not available. Why was it on the menu if it’s not available? And isn’t this the responsibility of your restaurants and not your couriers? After changing my order request, the postmate arrived over an hour past the order time. And the worst part? After eating, I pull out my phone, and the price has changed again! How this is possible I have no idea. I thought I had received a receipt but I guess this is how you make a profit- scamming people by literally changing the amount they owe throughout the experience. To be honest I’m not even sure of what I really paid for this meal, but it wasn’t worth it in the slightest.

    hi so right now i thought about ordering from Panda Express then immediately after using my fingerprint to complete the order, i changed my mind and clicked cancel and it says that i was still charged $15.55 in my bank account even though i canceled immediately. i want my money back. nothing shows when i click the “clock” icon, so i know for sure that the order isn’t being picked up or anything. i just want to get it back please.

    The app glitches and they took 28 out of my account without a single thing being ordered. And when I tried to contact them, I realized that only they can call me. Which is very shady. Never using this app ever again.
